Aims of the course

This course is designed to refresh and update previously acquired first aid skills as well as visit any best practice changes. The course revises theoretical know-how and reassesses  participants to ensure they are still competent when it comes to first aid.

The course is open to and benefical for anyone who is responsible for healthh & safety at work who wants to brush up on their skills, renew their understandings or renew their qualifications.

Participants will learn to:

  • Review the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Assess an incident
  • Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • Manage a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
  • Manage a casualty who is in shock
  • Understand how to manage a casualty with a minor injury

 

Key topics covered:

  • Revision of the role of the first aider and first aid kit content
  • Incident record and assessment
  • Dealing with emergencies: CPR assessment, unconscious casualty assessment, wounds bleeding and shock assessment
  • Qualification reassessment (practical and/or theoretical)

 

What is included?

The majority of our courses are customised and delivered in house.  Our standard fee for customised course delivery over the duration of a day is £950.00, which includes diagnostics, course customisation to ensure the course meets the specific needs of your organisation, materials and delivery to groups of up to 15 people.  This equates to a training investment of £65.00 per head. Certificates are issued upon completion of the training for all participants.
